Hej Prog Fans! After a short silence from the band (a lot of work on the second album) Abstrakt is pleased to invite u all to Kuyavian Prog Fest Vol. 2 in Grudziądz on 20.01.2017! Abstrakt will play alongside Fractalmind and Broken Bridges. See ya there.
We are happy to share that “Abstrakt – Krzysztof Ślachciak” collaboration has brought fabulous visual results. How much do you like Abstrakt’s new image? Those pictures are examples of analog film processing, which is Krzysztof’s speciality. Sneak peeks are available here: http://abstraktband.com/en/band/
We’re almost ready to finalize the Limbosis chapter. But we’re missing just one more piece, which will glue together the effects of our teamwork and ideas, that is – a clip! We have enforced the project team with Julia – who already started working on the script and storyboard. By the sketches, can you guess on which song we’re working?
“May I go as far as saying that Limbosis is one of the best Industrial Prog Metal albums of the new millenium? Check it out and decide for yourself. ”
“(..) I am very much impressed by the high level of musicianship and the quality of the songs on what is, let’s remember it, a debut album by a young band. Rarely have I heard a debut album showing such a level of maturity and creativeness. (..)”
“Abstrakt is a fairly new band from Poland and Limbosis is their first album. The band is solidly based in the Prog Metal genre, but certainly not in a Dream Theater sort of way. Their sound leans heavily on powerfull guitars and energetic drumming. On the most part the music and singing are quite intense, even though they do introduce some quiet (sometimes almost mystical) pauses in their songs. Occasionnally they also add some arabic (and even aboriginal) or other ethnique flavours to their sound.
If I were to pick a reference to describe Abstrack‘s music it would be Tool, because of the power and rage often present, the powerful guitars and drums and also their lead singer (excellent Krzysztof Podsiadlo) that shows a style similar to Maynard James Keenan, even though his voice is closer to Depeche Mode‘s Dave Gahan or The Tea Party‘s Jeff Martin, another band thatAbstrack could be compared to (mostly to their heavier early albums).
Even though there are obvious (at least to me) links to be made to the two great bands I have previously listed in this review, Abstrackare not close to being copy cats and have many very distinct personnal qualities to offer to the listeners. I am very much impressed by the high level of musicianship and the quality of the songs on what is, let’s remember it, a debut album by a young band. Rarely have I heard a debut album showing such a level of maturity and creativeness. There is not one weak (or even average) song on Limbosis and it actually rivals the better albums put out by the most famous bands from the musical subgenre that is Industrial Prog Metal.
Fans of Tool, The Tea Party or of intense Metal Prog music that have been long waiting for a new album, or have been disappointed by the latest CDs from their favorite band, should run and buy Limbosis by Abstrackt. May I go as far as saying that Limbosis is one of the best Industrial Prog Metal albums of the new millenium? Check it out and decide for yourself.
Great stuff!! that gets my highest recommendation indeed.”
Abstrakt is spreading across our Western borders, more and more! „Limbosis” virus infections have been reported. Effectiveness 9/10. German media are delighted!
According to MetalGlory reviewer, “Limbosis” is one of the most exciting albums released in recent years and thanks to this, Abstrakt will hit the big time quickly.
Consigliato!
